Mauritius – Tourist Destination

Mauritius is an island nation in the Indian Ocean about 2,000 kilometres off the southeast coast of the African continent.

This is known as a heavenly destination because of all the magnificent experiences this island has to offer. Mauritius has gorgeous bright blue water and powder-white beaches. But there’s so much more to Mauritius than the beach when it comes to attractions. There’s bird-watching and hiking in the forested and mountainous interior or world-class diving and snorkelling. There are boat trips to near-perfect islets and excursions to remarkable botanical gardens and colonial plantation houses.

Here are some interesting activities to do while visiting this amazing Island:

Grand Bassin

This is a lake that is situated in the heart of Mauritius. It’s known as a holy river because Mauritian of Hindu faith believe that water inside the lake communicates with the waters of the holy Ganges of India. This is a wonderful historical site.

Chamarel park – 7 colored earth & Chamarel falls

The landscape at Chamarel is truly quite original, it is the only place in World where you can find a clay earth of 7 colours at one place. The colours of these unique dunes are red, brown, violet, green, blue, purple and yellow, purple and red are predominant. This is a geological curiosity and a major tourist attraction indeed.

All these places are quite unique and is in fact mind blowing but this is just a few of what Mauritius has to offer.
